Japanese Teachers' Association of NSWABN 94 045 344 808 |
Hi Everyone,
Seasons Greetings to those relaxed Teachers who are already on holidays and only a couple of weeks to go for the rest of us!
Year 10 Day
We mentioned about our upcoming workshops / activities in the last newsletter. Thanks to some volunteer teachers, we have formed a Year 10 Day Committee, with Mami Izuishi and Shoji Matsuura being the main and assistant organizers respectively.
Many exciting activities are being planned for the day. It is a great opportunity for students to take Japanese learning out of the classroom, to put into practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Japanese, to get to work with students from other schools who also study Japanese and of course to have FUN.
The Year 10 Day is scheduled to be, tentatively, Friday, 1 August at Macquarie University. So, look out for the application form to avoid disappointment. If you are still interested in taking part in the planning and organization of the Year 10 Day, please contact Mami for more information.
Year 12 Continuers Day
Term 2 is going to be very busy for all of us who teach year 12. We will be running two Year 12 Days in term 2. The Year 12 Continuers Day will be held at North Sydney Boys High School in June. Teachers and students who came to the Year 12 Day in the past gave very positive feedback. This is surely another one that you would like to take your students along to as well.
Year 12 Beginners Day
There is some more for you to look forward to... We have also initiated the Year 12 Beginners Day in June to help members to prepare their students for the new Beginners syllabus HSC exam. It will be held at St Scholastica's College in Glebe.
Because there are two workshops in term 2, we will not be running any workshop / activity in term 1.
Membership renewal
Membership applications will be sent to all schools at the beginning of next year. (Membership application forms will also be on our website.) www.jtan.org.au
We need to stress the importance of becoming a JTAN member if you want to join our workshops or purchase any exam kit.
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Enjoy the well deserved holidays. Look forward to working with you again in 2008.
