Hi Everyone
I am sure you are all having a very busy term with finalising reports and assessments and are looking forward to a well-deserved break.
President's Message
Well at last we come to the time of year when we breath an exhausted sigh of relief that the holidays are soon upon us, and most of our hard work has been done. I would love you to take a moment to look at the JTAN website. Upload an activity that has been successful for you this year, or take some time downloading the marvellous resources that are already there and filing them ready to use next year. I would also like to invite you to share via our forum. You can discuss your technological needs here: http://jtan.org.au/members/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16
Enjoy the last few weeks of school!
Leanne
JTAN Extension CD issued 11th October
Members are reminded that the Extension CD that was given to members after the in-service held by JTAN is for teacher use only and under no circumstances should any of the resources on the CD be given to students. It is important that teachers adhere to these guidelines, as we wouldn't want the validity of tasks that we set, compromised by students previously having access to these resources.
EXAM WRITER'S NEEDED
In order to produce authentic and quality exam papers, JTAN is asking for expressions of interest from JTAN members to assist in the writing of these examinations. We all know that these papers are often lifesavers, so to all those budding writers, please contact Naoko Henschke at nhenschke@kambala.nsw.edu.au with your expression of interest.
Website Resources
The JTAN website, www.jtan.org.au, has a wealth of resources uploaded by JTAN members and we thank those members for their valuable and generous contributions. In order to share some of the fantastic ideas you all utilise in the classroom, we ask that members consider uploading more resources to the website, particularly resources that you may have developed for the new extension course.
Japanese Language and Linguistic Seminar
UNSW has organised a 'Symposium of Japanese Applied Linguistics'. All members have been invited to this event and all relevant documents have been attached to this newsletter.
JTAN would like to congratulate everyone on what has been another great year for Japanese education. Please remember JTAN is for its' members and if you would like something in particular, please don't hesitate to contact enquire@jtan.org.au to let us know what we can do for you.
Enjoy the rest of the term.
