In the Afternoon Professional Learning Session for teachers held online on 12th August. Dr Motoko Christensen will introduce what Haikus are, their history, significance and their usage in promoting linguistic and artistic expression.
Contest:
Students will create an original haiku in Japanese. Your haiku can be serious, funny, reflective, or artistic – it’s up to you!
Theme:
As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia, the theme is kizuna – friendship, connection or bonds.
Mode:
Written: A haiku poem presented on an A4 page (with optional illustration or design).
Submission Checklist:
Please submit using the Google Form. Please complete one per student.
Teachers or students can submit however, they must ensure all information is correct.
