Exam Writing Workshop I

 Saturday 16th March, 2024 (9:00am – 3:00pm)

Would you like to contribute to the writing of JTAN examination papers? This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and collaborate with experts!

Each year, JTAN provides quality Preliminary Yearly and Trial HSC examination papers. This has always been a collaborative effort amongst members and we are once again calling for volunteers to help create both Beginners and Continuers papers. The Exam Writing Workshop I provides teachers the opportunity to engage in formal assessment writing practice, which may lead to further professional pathways within education.

Participants may be allocated according to their preference for Beginners or Continuers, and will work in small groups to develop the listening, reading and writing items for HSC-style examination questions. This workshop will further hone your skills and understanding of the HSC exam and develop your writing ability.

Participants will be rewarded with a $100 gift card for their time and contribution.

Required equipment: Please bring a laptop and charger

Note: This workshop aims to create 2024 JTAN Exams together and therefore the following conditions apply:

1. Attending the workshop or contributing exam tasks digitally means that you have agreed that:
   • your final product/s remains the property of JTAN.
   • you will not use the tasks externally (e.g. in your classroom prior to 2023 Preliminary Yearly exam or Trial HSC Exam)
   • you do not inform others (even other participants) about the details of what your team has created.
2. Please be aware that the task/s you submit may be changed in the final version without any notification.

Participation in this workshop can contribute to 6 hours of NESA Elective PD.
