JTAN is pleased to be able to offer an online version of our popular Continuers Speaking Day in 2020. This event will differ slightly in timing and operation this year due to the use of the Zoom teleconferencing platform and so it is important for participating teachers to carefully read the information below when registering.

*This is a SECOND speaking day due to the overwhelming demand for the 30th May. We are currently ACCEPTING registrations for this event. 

**Student applications made from 28th May onwards must be prepared to be placed into any session, including Session 5 commencing at 1:50pm.**

All students attending this event should register directly with JTAN OR when the event opens we will advise you of how to add students to your registration. Please only register YOURSELF below as an examiner.

Zoom Training for Examining Teachers

Examining teachers will need to join an online training session approximately 1 week prior to the event. In this training session teachers will be shown how Zoom will be used to organise and run the event, how to use Zoom for their examining role, how to use Google Classroom to provide feedback to students, and to answer any questions they may have about the event.

Zoom Pilot Testing for Participating Students.

Students will be encouraged to login to a quick Zoom session to test their internet connection, microphone and camera. They will then be provided with the link to Google Classroom in order to access their feedback on the Saturday.

Event Information

1. Students are provided four (4) sets of 7 minutes HSC style conversation practices + 3 minutes of feedback.
2. Students will only be allocated to one session and must be available to be placed in any session throughout the day. It will not be possible to offer students a choice.
3. Students will be informed directly of their exact practice time one week before the date. Please advise students to attend the pilot session to test their equipment, and to login 10 minutes before their allocated session time. Please also advise them that student who arrives later than the allocated time may miss the practice.
4. If you enrol your students then you are expected to be available to examine across all five sessions for the duration of the event. Please note the day has been shortened to run in an online format
5. Teachers registering on behalf of their students will need to collect the following information for EACH participating student before registering:
   1. 1. 1. Name
         2. Contact number
         3. Gmail address for Google Classroom (cannot use school Gmail)
         4. Whether student will login via computer or phone (computer preferred)
         5. Special Needs/things of which the examiner needs to be aware
6. Each teacher may bring up to a maximum of 10 students (be aware that this number may reduce once the event nears capacity). If the number of students is more than that, an additional (separate) application must be made by a second accompanying JTAN Member.
