HSC speaking: conducting HSC and non-HSC style assessment (After School Zoom Session)

This free after-school Zoom workshop aims to disseminate strategies and ideas for conducting HSC oral exams and non-HSC style assessment. The session is open to teachers of both stage 6 Japanese Beginners and Continuers, with the goal of assisting students to succeed in oral-style assessments. The workshop leader will be focussed on conducting HSC oral exams, as well as include relevant and effective non-HSC style ideas to assess student skill in this area.

The workshop will be lead by Victoria Hay, who holds extensive experience teaching stage 6 across a variety of sectors and presenting at conferences on a range of topics related to teaching stage 6. Victoria is actively involved in HSC examination as both a senior examiner for Japanese Beginners and Continuers and has also been on the NESA exam committee for Japanese Continuers and Extension. She is is currently the Language Officer for the Department of Education’s Curriculum Secondary Learners, where she supports language teachers through creating and presenting professional learning and curriculum resources.

Please note that while this presentation may refer to language from the NESA syllabus outcomes, the presenter will not able to ascribe marks to responses used.
